MESSAGE BY CEO
YNEFI is a dedicated organization devoted to educating and enabling India’s youth to reject illegal drugs. It is our aim to develop this campaign by collaborating with a wide range of nonprofit public and private sector organizations. Our focus is to promote the primary prevention of drug abuse, which means preventing drug abuse before it starts. To achieve this goal, we have conceived a high impact mission, code named Mission Angel Dust, which will harness a diverse mix comprising television, radio, print and internet to deliver both general and tailor-made anti drugs messages. The campaign will endeavor to spread far and wide by collaborations with a broad range of community and civic groups, professional associations, government agencies and corporations, targeting youth to stay away from illicit drugs. We see this mission, spread over a relatively long frame of time, in order to bring about a measurable change in the beliefs and behavior patterns of target audiences.
Meanwhile, many countries are revamping their anti drug policies by initiating steps to decriminalize or legalize the use of narcotic drugs especially Marijuana. A new term has been coined “Medical Marijuana” which refers to using the whole unprocessed Marijuana plant to treat a wide range of diseases including Cancer.
Our future plans include, setting up a world class, state of the art center, for research, treatment and rehabilitation of drug users to handle all kinds of drug detox through to relapse prevention, by providing economical, modern and holistic treatment. A humble effort and beginning to free youth affected by drug addiction.

Parents and teachers have the most vital role in eradicating drug abuse since the activities and behaviour of children are most visible to them. They can watch their behaviour and look for signs of addiction which are a bit beyond the visual range of enforcement agencies. If effectively monitored, it will single-highhandedly contribute maximum to Demand Reduction of drugs since it prevents consumption in the initial stage itself. We need action oriented support of parents and teachers. If children are suspected to be abusing drugs then immediate intervention must be done and professionally qualified doctors and de-addiction centres may be contacted for help. As far as possible, confrontation must be avoided and the matter should be handled tactfully as it is a very sensitive issue.
I would like to advise people, especially the youth, school and college going students to stay away from drugs. Addiction to narcotic drugs is now recognized globally as one of the real dangers, which faces the world. Drug abuse is no longer confined to any culture or socio-economic strata of society but has entered all segments. It is very important to understand that it damages the individual and the society very silently. This “silent terrorism” of drug abuse destroys mankind hence it is better to say “No to Drugs” for the first time and every other time. Under the guidance of Dr. Shreekumar Menon, YNEFI aims to reduce young students’ motivation to use illicit drugs by increasing their knowledge about the potential negative consequences of drug use. |

The term narcotic means "to make numb" originally referred medically to any psychoactive compound with sleep inducing properties.
Drug abuse is a complex phenomenon, which has various social, cultural, biological, geographical, historical and economic aspects. The processes of industrialization, urbanization and migration with the stresses and strains of modern life have made an individual vulnerable to drug abuse. Apart from affecting the individual it brings in misery to every member of the family and the society at large. We have embarked on a mission to fight this evil menace … MISSION ANGEL DUST!......Let us join hands to make our world a better place |
